Pittsburg Disposal Service is pleased to offer residents the following service options, which also include recycling collection of your standard residential collection service. Pittsburg Disposal Service offers bi-weekly yard waste collection. This collection is ONLY for Bay Point residents served by Pittsburg Disposal.

Recycling Service

Curbside recycling is included as part of your standard residential collection service. Every household receives 1 white crate and 1 blue crate for your recycling needs. If you need more crates, please contact Pittsburg Disposal.

Listed below are the materials that are acceptable for recycling. Please review and download the recyclable material list below. Due to new equipment, if you wish, you can now mix your recycling together. There is no need to separate your recycling.

PLEASE be advised that Pittsburg Disposal Service personnel are required to leave certain materials in the crates or remove from the collection process for the following reasons:

  • Materials are contaminated
  • Materials are not included in the program
  • Materials are too heavy or large
  • Volume generated requires special pickup


Yard Waste

Pittsburg Disposal offers bi-weekly pickup of yard debris on the same day as your regular garbage and recycling collection. Click here for the 2010 Bay Point Yard Waste Calendar.

If you need an extra pickup, please call Bay Point Disposal Service at (925) 432-6262. If you have an excess of yard waste on a weekly basis, an expanded weekly service is available. Please call the office for details.

Recycling Motor Oil*

Pittsburg Disposal Service will pick up your used Oil. Call Pittsburg Disposal Service for a collection appointment and for a free motor oil kit mailed to your home. Once the container is full, call us to arrange for a free pick up.

It is illegal and unsafe to put household hazardous waste in the garbage. If you have any hazardous waste, please bring it to the household hazardous waste facility in Pittsburg:


Spring & Fall Clean Up Days

Your Fall Clean Up Week is October 11th-15th, 2010.

All Pittsburg Bay Point customers get two Cleanup Days per year. We will collect up to 12 bags (32 gallon) or 12 boxes of household garbage or yard waste, weighing no more than 50 pounds each. If you have branches, please make sure to tie them in a bundle and that they are no wider than 18 inches by 3 feet long. WE WILL PICK YOU UP ON YOUR REGULAR PICK UP DAY. You will receive a notification in the mail explaining the Spring & Fall Cleanup Days and additional event details, such as date, time & location.

This does not include furniture, hazardous waste, or appliances.

ABSOLUTELY NO HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE

Hazardous Waste includes: (unacceptable items for Fall Clean Up)

Automotive Care Products: Oil, Oil Filters, Antifreeze, Brake Fluid, Transmission Fluid, Gasoline, Car Wax, Car Polish, Car Batteries, Degreasers, Solvents, Wheel Cleaners & Road Flares.

Home & Garden Products: Liquid Cleaners, Aerosols, Drain Openers, Solvents Grouts, Cements, Caulking, Sealants, Adhesives, Lighter Fluid, Pesticides, Insecticides, Herbicides, Pool Chemicals & Fertilizers.

Paint & Paint Related Products: Latex Paint, Oil-based Paint, Stains, Varnishes, Glazes, Waxes, Wood Oils, Paint Thinner, Epoxy Resins and Wall Paper Product.

Personal Care Products: Hair Care Products, Lotions Cosmetics, Nail Polish Remover, Perfumes & Colognes
